Hannah Jackson: Ethereal, Otherworldly Hand-Made Jewelry Crafts

HANNAH-PAIGE JACKSON is actively making a stride on her college campus with her brands ‘Otherwordly’ and ‘La Petite Cherie.’  A current sophomore  political science major (class of 2027) who comes from collegetown Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Hannah found her way to jewlery-crafting and design throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. “I was just looking for things to occupy my time outside of school, since school was online. . . I was basically like, ‘let me grab some things and see what I can do. . . then I started messing with it.” She found herself mostly enjoying creating waist beads due to their luxurious feel. Nowadays, she finds most pleasure in creating earrings, as they serve as excellent staple pieces year round.

Otherworldly represents whimsy, fun creations, sparkled with divine femininity. Her desire to capture earth’s natural beauty through florals, metallics, crystals, and clouds adds to the ethereal aesthetic she successfully manages to produce.  When asked about her decision to name the brand Otherwordly, Hannah states, “My mom has always said to me, ‘oh you’re not from here, you HAD to have come from some other place.’ I did a lot of painting and art throughout my life, so I always showed her the things that I was making. She always told me, ‘you’re out of this world.’ So with my brand, I wanted to encapsulate that.”

Her desire to contribute to the entrepreneurship space reigns strong, as she’s most passionate about creating a brand that supports causes centered around human rights, climate change, etc. Combining her political ambitions with art is a feat she aims to achieve, especially as she grows familiar within the realm of business.

When asked to give advice to her past self, she admits that she would tell her younger self to not confine herself to one thing, as “life and myself can be as limitless.”

“I always felt like I had to do, or be, one thing at a time. And that would cut off a lot of my desires and interests. So I would tell myself you can do as much as you wanna do.”
